There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Nice suggestion of the Tissot there, mimo. I completely agree with you about its merits.

Emailed Yobokies and he quoted me $310 for a 007 modded in this manner or could sell me the parts (bezel insert, dial, hands and chapter ring) for just over $100. Might have to sell off a few of my lesser used poor man watches to get one of these.

Great choice. It's a great value and a real stunner on the wrist.

Any suggestions on casual brown or black leather watches? The simpler the design the better.
I much prefer leather watches. I'd like a daily beater watch as well as a dressier watch.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Specific budget?

Obvious answers are higher up this page, at the lower price range. But give us a number. I like that game.

While watching and reading through this thread during the past 2-3 months, at some point I picked up a green S5M. It's easily one of my favorite casual watches (out of my whopping 5 watches, ha)! Picked it up when an eBay seller stuck them on clearance for $50 a while back. The power reserve easily outclasses my dress Bulova!

So, thank you and others in this thread for the fantastic recommendation!

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a vacation watch and I have a few features I'd like:

    - diver's watch (I do intend to actually use it for recreational diving)
    - bracelet and rubber strap
    - day and date

Optional handwinding and/or longish power reserve would be nice, because I don't want to fiddle around with setting the date and time when on holiday :D I also have a bit of a soft spot for Seiko because Japan has played a big part in my life. Is the new Orange/Black Monster the best bet? I could probably stretch the budget to $500 if there's a better option, but the Monster looks pretty good.

I'm going to recommend you the OLD Orange Monster (SKX781). I like them better than the newish version, and it gets general praise on the PMW's thread!

Orient Mako, Mako XL and Ray are also nice contenders, if you seek out of the Seiko kingdom!

The old Orange Monster doesn't handwind, correct?
