Someone say "Seiko 5"? Here's my poor man's Blancpain 50 Fathoms take off - a Seiko SNZH55 bought from Asia for £120. Shame the hardlex glass isn't up to much, but a nicer everyday watch.

Are you serious? Thats your first auto! How about mehanical? Where you born in the 60's or 70's ? If not then i could believe it!

First non-quartz. I was born in 1981, so I'm 31. Is this really so surprising?

Stowa is only available online through their website (stowa.de). Watches are made as they are ordered, so expect a wait.
Thanks! I'm gonna check it out ! Made to order, thats sounds cool!

My one year old Daniel Wellington watch have spoilt. The minute hand have came lose and it moves about everytime you tilt the watch. Anyone know the cause of it and whether it can be fixed.

Back when I just got the watch.

Here's a wristy of the same watch from earlier. I oiled the strap and the color is fantastic.

Solar was the housebrand of Canadian store called Eaton's. Defunct for a while now, but their watches are a bit of a collector's item because some of them (not this one) were made by Rolex or something like that (maybe a subrand of Rolex). I think this has an eta automatic movement.

I really don't understand Seiko's brand policy. While I love their value for money, I often find the dials to be not too well-designed. Why do they put myriads of wonky-looking models out there instead of focusing on a few solid ones? No one could compete with that.

For every blue spark or mini monster, they have dozens of ugly watches.

Citizen does as well but they lack any of the hits.

It's beyond me why they would discontinue something like the Blue Spark. Have people just come to expect ugly watches and therefore ignore a tsteful watch?

I think Orient has a much better lineup, though they also have their share of uglies.

it is a bit weird. IMO, throughout it's history, Seiko has created some of the most attractive watches of all time, but unfortunately a lot of them have been few and far in between. 6105, 6217, 6309, blue spark, etc all gorgeous pieces. Wish they would re-release some of them.
