Is that with the Oyster bracelet? I'm debating wether I should get it with the oyster or not.

I am not 100% sure. It was sold to me on the watch and the gent could not remember where he got the bracelet from.
    Sorry.

Going on its bracelet instead :)

It seems to be settling at +2 per day which I am reasonably happy with.

Which Seiko is that? Where did you buy it for $100?

    Ebony & Ivory... :embar:

The datejust was bought new in 1997, the 'T Swiss Made T' dial is developing a nice patina after 16 years :) (yes I know the date is wrong again)

As I mentioned I'm not keen on flat crystals and here's why :(

Well without digging out the sales invoice, that Datejust cost about 1.5 grand at the time, and so I think it deserves PMWT status. The Universal retailed about the same at the time and is arguably a more refined watch and no one complains about that. We want to be accepted here yes we do :)

No. Seriously? What you're saying is invalid because it is no longer 1997. And you can't compare it to the Universal, which obviously does not have the same type of recognition/reputation.

Basically, you need to come up with a better excuse to show off your Rollies.

I jest. Seriously though, it's against the spirit of this thread.

Well that opens up a whole debate about what constitutes a PMW. Is it brand recognition/desirability? Residual value? Tudor doesn't have the same recognition or reputation either, it's often called the Poor Man's... yet they run into complaints on this thread. All very confusing. Anyway...

Ok then :) what about my vintage Casio from 1983. Still in its original presentation box. This was actually quite expensive at that time. Vintage Casio is quite a specialized niche interest. The modern reproductions of 'vintage style' Casio are a pale imitation and not the same at all. My best friend at school had a Marlin 100m WR (I forget the exact model).

I love this watch as much if not more than the rolexes :)

Plus I think this seems a more friendly thread than the other one... Quite a bit of antagonism there on the other thread recently, so please don't mind if I prefer to remain on this thread regardless, which, also, doesn't get as much postings as the other one :)

That is indeed the same watch. The SKX007/009 comes with either a jubilee bracelet or a rubber strap, if you want an oyster bracelet you've gotta buy an aftermarket one.

I had a Skagen but it kept having to be sent back for warranty maintenance. Eventually, they gave me an offer for a gift card to an online watch shop for the original MSRP value. Sadly, I had had enough of them that I bought a non-Skagen watch for my girlfriend at the time.

Mine was the 958XLSL. It looked alright, but was a little cheap. And honestly, I have a few other watches that I liked better and switch bands with all with 20 mm lugs instead of these 22 mm lugs, so it just didn't have a place in my rotation.

I think if I were to get one, it would be something simple like the 858XLSLC, since it has normal lugs instead of an integrated band. But to answer one of your original questions, I'd go with leather over metal.
