I'm hoping someone here might help. I'm currently a user of Murray's pomade but would like to replace it with a water-based pomade that washes out easily. I've read a few threads that recommend Pinaud's pomade, so I went to Sally's beauty supply and came out with a jar of Pinaud's styling gel. So I go home and try it out immediately... eh, not quite what I'm looking for. I'm pretty sure I bought the wrong product. The question is where can I find Pinaud's Pomade? A google search turns up nothing.

I'd appreciate any recommendations for a water-based pomade that has little to no scent, that won't break the bank, and has comparable hold to Murray's.

Thanks.

Baxter has one of the weakest water based pomades out there.

La Bella makes a water based pomade that is scentless and easy to wash out. It holds less than Murray's, but it will get the job done.

I don't know about the sheen because I used Murray's once and swore to never touch it again. The stuff stayed in my hair for days........

after multiple (re: like 15) applications of shampoo. Layrite, if you use enough, can give you that 50's greaser look. It can also be applied with water, and in smaller amounts, to give a lighter look. The best part is that Layrite holds great while running, in the wind, changing shirts, and other physical activities, yet it still washes out easily. It can come out with just water if you're too lazy (re: drunk at 4 am) to put shampoo in lol.

So what happened to Pinaud's pomade? I can't find any record of it ever existing beside reference to it in a couple older threads.

-- update --

i just got word that this product was discontinued a few years ago.
