polo blue label suits

Do the recent blue label Polo suits run small or large? I tend to be right between a 38R and a 40R in most suits, usually closer to the 38R. Should I err on the larger side?

I may be able to get a friend to look at stuff at the Polo outlet in Cabazon, and I likely won't be able to get to a retail store to try anything on beforehand.

Any thoughts?

Error on the smaller side unless you have fairly wide shoulders. But they also come in 39R, at least in their stores (don't know about online). While they have pretty good waist suppression, I find that they run just a hair big in the shoulders and the lack of padding exacerbates this (they have very little padding).

i'm a 38 in some brands and a 40 in others. the polo blue label suits fit me just about perfectly in a size 40.

they sell them at saks on wilshire if you want to try them on.

btw, i was at the cabazon outlet just after new year's and they didn't have any blue label suits. they sell a lot of the 'lauren' brand there.

Matador--I might give Saks a shot if I have the time. I rarely get out to the Westside, since my schedule typically has few blocks of open time during business hours. It's a shame that Saks never had anything good at their Pasadena mini-store, which they are closing (have closed?) And yeah, I've found that Cabazon Polo outlet to have 90% crap, 90% of the time. I have friends who have found a couple of decent suits there, so I figured it was worth a shot on someone else's gasoline.

I second the post above, definitely go w/ the smaller. Blue labels are cut very generously. I've never seen an actual Blue label suit at a Polo outlet though, only the 'university' or Lauren ones that seem to be made specifically for those stores (but I'm thinking of 'factory' stores, not sure if an outlet is different). As a side note - this is one of the most annoying developments in the 'factory' store concept. Often the clothing is manufactured specifically for those types of stores. Brooks Brothers is a major offender.

They do carry 'regular' RL store items at the Polo Outlets, such as RLPL items. The problem is that they don't get that many, and you never know what they are going to get and in what size.

I too have been miffed at the fact that Polo, GAP, Banana Republic and Brooks Brothers all make this shoddy "factory store" crap.
