Just won a Polo blue sportcoat on eBay and the label says it was made in Macau. Is this something new or am I missing something?

Perhaps it's one of these Polo jackets I've seen that are somewhere between a casual jacket and a proper sportcoat. Sized S-M-L rather than 40R, etc., and tailored rather, indelicately, for lack of a better word. I've seen these in corduroy and tweed, has anyone else?

I have the cord one. I won't be wearing it much though. The working buttonholes on the sleeves keep me from shortening them. I prefer finer wale cord as well. I should have gotten the much better model or even the purple label cord sportcoat, which is on sale a lot.

I have noticed that the polo often have an italian version of a jacket and also a macau/chinese version.

I prefer the italian one. The stitching and constructing looks alot better, and fit and tend to be properly 38, 40, 42, 44, etc not just S, M, L, Etc.

I have thought about getting the asian jackets, because they are half the price of the italian, but cant justify it when you can by the italian jackets for the same price on sale.
