Bergen is quite the legend, and her story fits the showbiz mold quite well; star in the '50's and '60's, nobody for another couple of decades, triumphant comeback in later years. She played Carlotta in the 2001 Broadway revival of Follies. It was heavily criticized but it seems everyone who saw it caan agree that Bergen was the one redeeming quality of the production. She alwso plays Lynette's mother on "Desperate Housewives." I will post a video of Bergen doing "I'm Still Here" from that Follies revival. I am almost tempted tos ay that this is the definitive reading of the song because she works the role better than her predecessors (Yvonne de Carlo, the great Dolores Gray, etc.). Her smoky voice and lower range really seell the idea of a fallen showgirl. She, is also quite elegant
