Welcome to The Celebratory Holiday Fit Friday Challenge

It’s that time of year. We want to see you dressed for the occasion and having fun, and the occasion is the holiday season, broadly conceived. A picture of you at a party would be ideal, but sharing a quiet holiday moment with family or friends would be equally good. Day/night, indoor/outdoor, it doesn’t matter. The bottom line: it should look celebratory (reminder: the robopose is not celebratory unless you actually are a robot) and good.

I’m backdating the beginning of the eligibility period to December 16 to include all of Hanukkah, just in case someone already has some pics they’d like to enter (not likely, I know, but not impossible).

Rules:

(1) Eligibility Period: begins December 16, ends noon, US EST, Saturday, January 3, 2015.
(2) No more than one fit and a maximum of three photographs per entrant.
(3) Tie required.

Cleav gets the funny distinction but Betel gets my vote

With a few of these I'm struggling to see what makes them particularly 'festive' or different from what people here normally post. Crusty, Betel, Imthegroom, Shen and Cleav looked like they were actually dressed up, but Cleav takes it for the appropriately ridiculous combination of 'up and down' in one post.

Congratulations to Scooby Cleav for a well-deserved win, and thanks to all who participated and voted. Not a bad fit in the bunch.

Ac’s favorite challenge-related runner-up photo: upr_crust’s third photo. Just a wonderfully unstaged shot of a guy enjoying himself, something we wouldn’t normally get to see.

Ac’s favorite non-challenge-related runner-up photo: Claghorn’s last one, taken through the window. Hardly celebratory, but an evocative, mysterious, almost melancholy image, nicely composed. Those artistic considerations aside, it’s also nice to see that the jacket fits as well in the back as it does in the front.
