I've just done a quick inventory of my jeans. I have 50+ odd pairs of jeans, 20 of which are on the wearing rack, about 10 of those 20 are in regular rotations. These jeans are in addition to 30+ odd pairs of trousers I have.

I think I have a problem! Comes Spring, there will be some serious shedding going on.

How many pair of jeans do you own? Raise your right hand if you think you have a problem.

Holy fuck. I thought I had a problem, but I guess this is all relative. I have 8 pairs of jeans, and I'm thinking that I won't wear a couple of new ones until next year.

I don't have a problem...yet...but I'm starting to get interested in premium denim.

You'd think that as you purchase more expensive jeans, you'd want to buy less of them, not more... haha.

I have about ten pairs. Not so sure about the exact number, and I have been throwing out a lot. I only wear four of those anymore, all of which I bought in past couple of months under the influence of SF. Oddly enough I have no craving for more right now. I'm just happy to have jeans that I really like wearing.

Not sure. Does having 1 pair on the way, 7 pairs already in rotation, another dozen in "I would wear these, but am feeling the others more", and another dozen kept purely for nostalgia or bragging rights sake, "This was one of the first pairs of 7's to come out of production", "These are Paper Denims from the first season, when they had a much more repro feel and a different label", "These are A.P.C.'s from the early 90's, bought in Paris", count as a problem?

Unusual, yes, problem, no. In reality, it's no different from someone who has 20 wrist watches, only two of which are regularly worn. Personally, I get no pleasure from having things in my closet I don't wear. It feels wasteful to me. However, if having a collection for collection's sake makes you happy, then it is perfectly legit, and I say go for it. The same as some say that having a Patek in yellow gold, white gold and platinum is a complete waste (I don't have these. . . yet), I am completely in awe when I see such a collection. Honestly, it's the "I'm not feeling these so much" that I'd say consider getting rid of, but again, just me.

ehehehe, LA guy, we have a similar problem, or perhaps "affliction".

in the regular rotation probably about 10 pairs, 5 of which are raw and are therefore going to take about 3 years each to wear in properly.

the others that occasionally get to grace my lower half count up to about 30 or so.
    anybody sizes 30-33 inseam 31-34 want jeans?[IMG]

    In rotation:
    1 Pair PDC RPMs.
    1 Pair APC Rescue.
Soon to be joined by new Sugar Cane Okinawas.

    Not in rotation:
    3 Pair Ralph Lauren Polo.
1 Pair Ruehl (given to me by the guy that owns the wash house they came from, before Ruehl even existed as a brand)

    Things I would add:
1 pair lighter blue washed (I am thinking Nudie RRs).
1 pair lightweight denim, slim, dark, straight with resin wash (ideally Rag & Bone will decide to make stuff that fits me some day)

I can't see any reason to own more than six active pairs of jeans, especially if you are trying to break in raw selvage.

Wow. I thought I had issues ... I have about 16 or 17 pairs, of which I wear two regularly now (RRL, RB2), several semi-regularly (couple of GTOs, Hemingway, TAT, ICN, SLM, Uniqlo one-wash) and others that get pulled out to break the monotony.

On the other hand, my dad has two or three pairs, one he's had for more than a decade.

That I wear: 2 Diesel Kuratt, 3 PDC LTD

That sit in the closet: 1 PDC LTD, 1 Banana Republic bootcut

About to go on ebay: 3 7 bootcut, 1 Diesel Kuratt, maybe the PDC that I don't wear.

So I guess that brings me to 11 total pairs of jeans.
