Poll: How do you fade your jeans?

Just a simple poll,

Wondering how many out there artificially fade their raw denim jeans by using sand paper, rolling in the sand, using other abrasives to get a jump on getting the fading started. Or do you simply wear the heck out of the jeans and allow them to naturally fade?

Yes, it's just that I have heard people use different techniques to speed up the fading process (sand paper) Just interested to see how many people do that.

Why buy raw jeans and then artifically fade them when you could just buy artificially fades jeans?

The reason i see is that you can set creases by wearing them and then figure out how they might fade naturally and then you can hurry the process up. The only issue is the few times I've seen it happen it was because people were impatient and they then proceded to impatiently sand and it looked real fake and bad. The problem with a pair of pre-faded jeans that looks legit is that the creases and body joints never line up with the jeans.

I guess, but I've never seen artificially faded raws that you couldn't tell were pinched or sanded.

I start with white jeans and then hide in a dark alley outside denim bar with a bucket of water and when someone in raw denim walks by I leap out and throw the water on them and quickly run up and dry hump their leg getting all their precious indigo onto my jeans and then quickly scuttle off into the sewers (where I live)

I hate it when my jeans get faded. I specifically buy the darkest blues I can find. A light, faded blue just looks tacky to me.

Then you shouldn't buy raw denim... just buy dark washed jeans

The LVC washes come to mind as being pretty authentic.

I mean raws that people buy and then try to speed up or fake the fades.
