Hi All,

I thought it would be interesting to take a poll and see what shirt colors appear most commonly in SF members' closets / daily lives and see how that diverges from the general population. Please note that tuxedo shirts do not count for purposes of this poll as there is clearly only one correct color for them. Also, obviously some shirts have patterns and more than one color; try to use your best judgment and approximation.

EDIT: It probably makes sense to use the base color for certain checked shirts. Bengal stripe shirts would essentially be whatever the stripe color is, etc.

The poll unfortunately doesn't seem to allow people to make a #1, #2 and #3 choice, so I'm stuck with only letting people pick one. I suspect the poll results will diverge a bit from the discussion for this reason, so please post after you vote.

My top 3:

1. Blue
2. Pink
3. Lilac / Lavender

Blue for its versatility and ability to make effective pairings with many different ties, pink and lilac because I love the colors, especially on occasions where I am not wearing a tie and tie matching is not a priority.

Let's hear your favorite colors and (if you like to share) reasons for them.

The vast majority of my dress shirts are multicoloured, whether striped, checked, or otherwise. If I had to choose which solid colour dress shirt I wear the most it would be white.

Not necessarily solid shirts only, though I understand the issue in approximating. I'd consider, for example, a shirt with a predominantly blue background with different color checks to be blue. It's kind of a "what color would most people see this shirt as" type of thing. Not exact for sure, but a 100 answer poll (which one could easily do) would just be too much.

It seems 7 out of 10 times I am wearing a lounge suit, it will be with a white shirt.
