I picked up these: some AE Eastons for 60% off thanks to that awesomSF PSA of shoes.com sale last week. I'm excited to wear them, but wanted to actually try to get on the polish thing early. So, as I was reading some other posts about treating shoes before first wearing them, I ordered from Franco's some Crema Nubiana, and have the AE Saddle Brown polish on the way. My plan was to treat with Crema Nubiana and then a little AE polish. However, the Easton has that dark burnished toe. Now,the last time I tried to polish a brown shoe it didn't go so well. I used Lexol cleaner and Lexol conditioner and turned the Cole Haan's brown almost black, I still don't know what happened. I hope for better things with the Crema Nubiana. So, needless to say, I don't have a lot of confidence and I'm scared to death to screw up that nice look of the easton's saddle brown with the burnished toe. I really want to keep the look it has, rather than changing the color or look with my lousy polishing skills. So, how do I go about polishing these with that different colored toe area? All advice much appreciated! Also any further advice on my lousy skills would be appreciated as well.
