Pole: rubber anti-slip soles???

Ok, on my way to work this morning, I slipped (and almost) fell a few times due to my lovely leather-soled shoes. No wet surface; just marble. Hggmm; not a pleasant way to start the week.

The shoes are a few months old, but sufficiently broken in, including soles. Metal toe taps as well.

Is there any good reason why I should not have my cobbler add rubber anti-slip soles?

I find that leather soles dont really slide, but metal tacks on the bottom of the soles do cause it.

Still... leather. Cant do rubber.

Any good reason to risk falling every time?

are the toe taps raised?

I have flush metal plates, and I have no problems walking on marble.

I have a pair of Park Ave's that have Vibram anti-slip sole installed, and I don't see any difference in them except for the sound they make and they don't slip.

That's how I roll, too. It's not very iGent-ish, but practically, there's no reason why leather soles should still exist.

I am assuming you meant this rhetorically, but if not, I am with you.

Nope, they are flush. I am not sure they make the shoes more slippery, but also not less. At least not on marble.

I understand where you are going with this, but some would argue that there is a difference in that you can't wear those shoes with a suit. At least not in certain environments.
