poka dot tie vs pindot

Pindots are smaller, and typically a little more conservative.

Polka dots can be perfectly acceptable and traditional, however. Much depends on the precise size, color, and distribution of the dots. Some polka dot ties can be treated about the same as pindot ties, which others are loud enough to appear comical. (Indeed, large, brightly colored polka dots on a tie are an old comedic staple.)

FWIW, I tend to prefer long ties in pindot, and bow ties in Churchill dot. But that's just me. And I do own a couple of polka dot ties, as well. All have their place in the great scheme of things.
