Yes, they are the ones I am reffering to. He does not know if they are available online he bought them in Tokyo.

Any sort of English mod/retro/Teddy website should have these.

I thought that but winklepickers are generally plain. Where as the Japanese have taken them on and styled them differently.

If you want something a step up from Bannister, you might want to try Cesare Paciotti, Alberto Guardiani, Gianni Barbato, or Jean-Michel Cazabat. All four of these are fairly pricey ($400-600), but they are also often very pointy and the quality is a lot nicer than most. Good luck! I have a few pairs of Guardianis and Cazabats and, while they are certainly not good for a business meeting, look great with jeans and are quite fun.

I have a problem with any shoe with those paper thin soles. They probably great for walking on carpet in a Las Vegas Hotel but for any real walking they seem useless.
