Pointed toed shoes for a tall person

Hi Guys,
i read a couple of articles stating that a tall person should not wear pointed toed shoes. is thia necessarily the case?

Not the case, however how pointy are we talking? Nobody should be wearing "pointy" shoes in general.

As a tall person (6'3") with a large foot (14us) I think the issue with pointy shoes is that the toe point elongates the shoe, making your foot look longer than it is. My foot is 12 inches long. With a standard shoe we're looking at 13.5 inches tip to tip. Add a point, and that's over 14 inches of shoe.

Eh, chicks will notice and think your hung, there is always a bright side.
