I visited the Rhinelander Mansion the day after it opened as Ralph Laurens Madison Avenue showcase ('85?). It was crowded and hot but I did manage to purchase this cotton pocket square. It says "Take me to Jamaica where the rum comes from" [IMG]

This is awesome. I really really want this [IMG] [IMG] Do you think that there is another way to purchase it?

Maybe next week I will take a few photos of the pocket squares I have for spring and summer. I put the fall/winter ones in storage along with my F/W socks and apparel. I enjoy a seasonal rotation although a few are certainly year-round.

I had a crappy shot up last year, but things have obviously changed since then. I have to organize them all anyhow, maybe soon. I am proud of them. [IMG] Rolling at about 125 now [IMG]

If you move just a few miles west, you'll be able to get rid of your summer wardrobe entirely... [IMG]

Is it too risky to remove pocket square tags/labels? All of my pocket squares have them, neatly sewn into the hand-rolled edges. Whichever way I fold or poke the damn things in, those tags keep on exposing themselves.

I was about to snip them out, then remembered how I once offered a good friend of mine some quick and simple medical advice. I won't go into great detail, other than to say it involved a pair of fine nosed scissors, a hand-held mirror and lots of medical grade swabs/bandages. The bad news was that he snipped the wrong bit, and his wife now hates me more than any other living thing. The good news is that they've since adopted, and we are at least still on speaking terms.

But back to the pocket square... would folk here suggest to leave well alone, or risk the tampering? The items in question are linen Simonnot-Godard & silk Kiton. The label stitching seems to be as fine as that containing the rolled edge itself.

    Thanks again

    Lear

I snip them off with the small scissors on my Swiss Army knife. I find that the label almost always has different thread than the edge. If it doesn't, I leave it alone.
