Thank you so much for the quick and helpful responses. Really great. Here are a few pics of the suit, tie and (my big splurge)Santoni shoes I'll be wearing. The pics are pretty terrible when it comes to the colors..........the tie by Zegna actually pops much more then it shows. The color really is squashed. I need to incorporate the blue because the bridesmaids will be wearing that color. I'd also like to incorporate yellow into my outfit in honor of my Mom, but it looks like it either has to be in the flower or in the pocket square......not sure which is possible or appropriate. I'm also gonna start a new post asking for help on a belt to wear.

    Thanks again!

I think the big boutonnieres look tacky too, pinned or not. I basically think it's one small flower, such that you can fit it in your buttonhole without any drooping, or nothing.

Like I mentioned, I'm new to the board and after reading a bunch of threads on this forum, I realize how "out of my league" I am when it comes to making very stylish choices. Thanks for the help.

What has he got in his lapel? A leather strap reaching down to his pocket.... Like the wallet belt chains.

It's a leather strap connected to a pair of glasses.

Won't think so. It's too short for it.

And why would you want that attached on your jacket (the glasses strap), that looks ugly.

I know DBs are allowed to be a bit shorter than SB jackets, but exactly how short is acceptable here? Is there any rule-of-thumb? This seems a bit too much.

PG is killin' it with some of those looks. :slayer:

It for his glasses. I posted a pic in this thread a while ago where you see them.

This is no different than the gentlemen who wear their pocket watch chain through their lapel button hole. I also like that look. You don't see it much any more but it is a classic way to wear one. You don't have to wear it in your vest or pants pockets, their are stylish options in life! And, why not use your breast pocket and lapel for something besides a felt flower? These guys did....

My 2 cents. DONT wear a yellow pocket square with this outfit. Wear a nice crisp linen pocket square in white. It will coordinate nicely with your shirt, photograph better and will look classic in your pics for years to come. The tie, suit and shirt combo looks very nice. You could wear a yellow flower. Normally yellow wouldn't be my first choice but because it has special meaning to you, you should do it. I really like that the flower color is special. Things like that add to the meaning of the wedding. NIce shoes too! Just get a belt that is close in color to it.

This is too short to wear in most US cities for sure but if you are a cool younger guy in Milan or Rome, why not?

I was talking to a Sales Associate in a nice San Francisco men's store. He said the European visitors come in and want to know why the jackets are so long! I have to beg my Naples based tailor to make my jackets longer. You have to wear a length that feels right for you. Also, super short or super long will always go out of style and will look very dated.

    +1

Way too short for anywhere (except Pitti). You'd risk getting slugged wearing that on the street in Rome.

    cover your ass
