This may sound like a silly question, but are pocket squares usually two sided? I.e. the design is printed on both sides of the fabric?
Yes. (Although, I'm sure someone will post something to counter that.) pocketsquareguy: great posting!

is the design printed on both sides of the fabric?
Not usually. On a printed fabric, the design is sharply defined on the front side. The printed design generally does not penetrate to the back of the fabric.

Thanks JA, glad you like the thread. Pocket squares are fun and a way to add classic good looks to any jacket.

Hi a noob here, just want to know what you guys think about these Hermes pocket squares priced at $165. Are these unnecessarily flamboyant or sartorialically smashing?[IMG]

If you are concerned that they are, then avoid them. Go with what feels right for you and mixes best with your wardrobe.

I own several and enjoy them. But, honestly, they aren't in frequent rotation. I wear them for casual social events where a splash of color is a fun accent. Most of the time I am using a white linen or printed silk, wool or linen that coordinates with the rest of my clothing and not trying to make a "splash".

I've got the top left pink one and I'm using it today. They may be a bit flamboyant but I like them.

^^^^^That's a lotta lotta going on with those two. The boutonniere with the chain and triangle? With the pocket parachute. Yikes.

Those are your admission tickets at Ascott. Not boutonnieres with triangles. You wear them at the race.

I guess I just outed myself as a small-timer, eh? Nonetheless, if you know you're going to be blinging it up with the wearable ticket, maybe a more subdued application of the PS is in order. I have a high tolerance for the exuberant PS, but this crosses the line for me.

BTW, how was the SF meetup last night?

    We missed you.It was fun.

Nice group of guys. No problem spotting the SF group among a lot of Elks. Varied conversations -travel, food, favorite cities, clothing and we all got to smell the new Creed scent thanks to Will. (And it was the door prize won by Young Scholar)
