Pocket Squares: A Discussion Thread, Questions, Opinions, Suggestions.....

OK, not sure how all will feel about this. It's probably a bit on the louder/peacock side of the SF spectrum, but I'd appreciate thoughts on the color match on the square. Tie is purple, btw; not sure that comes out in the pics.

FWIW, I like it. Personally I'd have done it with a navy blazer but I like the square with the tie. Even with the pattern I still like it. If you wanted to be noticed, in a positive way, then bravo to you, sir.

I'm finding ever greater utility in these many-colored, busily designed pocket squares. They look kinda crazy when unfolded, but in the pocket they can blend nicely into a complicated set of patterns when chosen correctly. As here:

Exactly, Spoo has 2 of them I think and they look super nice. I'm still thinking it over if I should buy it or not, $125 is pretty much for a pocketsquare

Hmm says VAT not included what's that another €20? And maybe shipment costs also. So Exquisite - Trimmings would probably be cheaper since they have free shipment worldwide as well.

Are you in Europe? If you're in the US, you don't have to pay VAT. But given that you used one of those euro currency symbols, I'm guessing you're in teh Europe, so maybe ET is cheaper for you. Rubinacci's shipping costs are a bit weird, I think it would be like 10 euros for a PS to the US.

Yeah I am. But counting now it would be the same price? I would probably end up at €100 which is around $120? But I would buy from ET anyway, good guy, great service and fast shipment

One or two excellent quality pocketsquares can be enjoyed for many, many years. I have several that I have owned since the 80's. All silk and in classic color combinations.

So, do you buy a lot of sale pocket squares that just look OK or a select number of distinctive and classic ones that help you look your best every time you wear them?

I say go for quality and not quantity. Plus it is damn hard to wear out or ruin a pocketsquare.

I don't know if their brick and mortar stores are cheaper than buying online, but if you live in Europe just make an excuse for a trip to Naples, watch the Vesuvius and buy some Marinella ties and Rubinacci squares while you're there

I believe I'm gonna do that sometime soon...

I was of the exact same mentality as you but bought a Rubinnacci "mediterraneo" with the black and white boarder and I love it!

I've received many complements and it goes with every jacket I own. I highly recommend exquisite trimmings as an option also.

Really? Well as for my knowledge you get what you pay for. How would you compare let's say a Rubinnacci ps to a Tom Ford ps?
