Pocket Square - Where to buy in Chicago?

I'm going to a wedding this Saturday and want to break my pocket-square cherry. First step is to actually own a pocket square. I know what tie I'm going to wear and plan to bring it shopping with me to find a matching pocket square. I'll be sure to complement the tie as opposed to merely mimicing the color of my tie (how plebian.)

So, where are good places in downtown Chicago to acquire said pocket square?

Much thanks

Never wore a pocket square, but I'm sure you're better off matching to the suit and not to the tie.

I'll add Hermès, George Greene, Saks, NM, and the Polo Mansion to the mix.

You can also add Mark Shale and Nordstrom to the mix. Once you know such a thing as a pocket square exist, you'll notice that just about everone sells them.

Men's Wearhouse has solid silk squares for pretty cheap. Jos. A. Bank too. I don't know what makes one pocket square better than another, so they look fine to me.

They also sel those ridiculous pre-folded 4-point things. ew

I believe the basic rule says one should match the pocket square to one's shirt primarily.

I am not as familiar with the selections at the Chicago locations of the stores already listed, but, if they are anything like the NY locations Paul Stuart will probably have the most extensive selection.

Buy a plain linen square from Brooks Brothers (or Paul Stuart). This is the most basic, and most versatile square in existence. Also, a vibrant square may not be appropriate for a wedding, but white linen is always appropriate.

yeah, I'll second that one-- get a cotton or linen square from Paul Stuart, don't even bother with the other locations. Besides, Paul Stuart is a fun place to visit! Ask them to press it into a square fold for you, which I think is most versatile. I always match the color of the cotton/ linen pocketsquare (roughly) to my shirt-- within a few shades, anyways. This usually equates to white, pink, or light blue.

Shrine Haberdashers on Oak Street carries some Drake's pocket squares.

Haberdash (either State or Wells locaation) I believe has an in house label of squares as well.
