Hi everyone :D,

This is my first post to the forum but I've been reading a lot of topics and discussions, I just didn't have the knowledge to comment on anything.

I am looking for a new dress shoes, and Septieme Largeur caught my interest.

http://www.septiemelargeur.fr/en/oxford/79-edouard-noir-forme-199.html#/uk_homme-75

The issue is I live in US, so I can't try them on.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the brand and can tell me whether they run small or large.
Also, is there any difference in sizing between normal and whole-cut shoes? Like should I size up or down or do nothing for whole-cut shoes?

I wear US 10.5 for Nike and Sebago.

Thank you!!

Why don't you just buy a nice pair of AE Park Avenues?

I have looked into AE but they don't really suit my taste. Plus they exceed my budget, the pre-owned ones I found on eBay are already $170-$200 with 2-3 years of use and some are even mildly damaged.

Hi, pn134.

There's a Septieme Largeur thread on SF already, so you could have a look through it and see whether there's any useful advice in there. Also, once you've had a quick look through the thread, if you didn't find the answer to your questions, you could try re-posting your questions in the SL thread as people who've already posted there will be more likely to see your post and to respond to it.

I don't have a pair of SL shoes as yet, but I've exchanged a couple of e-mails with the people who run SL and they were very helpful and they responded quite promptly, within a day or so of my query. I got in touch with them initially through the "contact" page on the SL website.

The SL website also has a page which gives information on sizes (based on your foot measurements) and lasts (the shape of the shoe):

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
