Firstly, I would like to thank you for your help and constructive criticism. I am entering my last year of medical school, and I will need a suit to wear to residency interviews. I own a couple department store brand suits that I have had tailored to fit much nicer, but now first impressions are becoming much more important. Already being six figures in debt, I am looking for a quality suit, but budget will be very important, so I figure used will be the best option. I am 5'7", 165 lbs, and I exercise daily, so i have larger chest and shoulders. I like a slim cut suit, but something that is still professional enough to interview with the medical community. I want to look professional, but also stand out. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks.

Here are some I have found while searching online. Are these all authentic? Do any of them stand out to you as being either very nice, or very bad?

Your suit should not stand out at an interview; solid dark navy or dark grey (charcoal) would be my only choices. You will stand out just by getting everything right and looking professional -- dark suit, white shirt, understated tie, black shoes. Anything else (besides maybe a light blue shirt) is too much for an interview, IMO.

Many of those you listed are dated by the lapels or just wrong. If I were you, I'd check Sierra Trading Post and get a Belvest or Isaia for 60% off -- you're assured it is new, up-to-date, and you can return it for sizing issues. I wouldn't suggest getting your first proper suit from eBay.

edit: checked STP and they didn't have much in the way of solids... post your size and I bet something proper can be located

Most of those pants are also double pleated which is a bit dated - anything I'm buying now is flat-front or at most single pleat. Just my 2c.

Some will say that flat fronts are quickly becoming passe. Others will tell you they already have. The danger of trying to keep up with the fashion cycles.

Ok, all the suits you posted (except the first one, which looks like mack is selling) are either dated, ugly, cheap or all three. Also, what's with the "shot at ...."???

Anyway, I'd get the first if it fit me and the price was right. The others have button stances and gorges that are just too low. The Ted Baker is new, but, it's a Ted Baker.

As for pleats being dated, not really sure why anyone would say that. Pleats and flat front pants have both been around since I started wearing pants ( at least 10 years

That first one is mack11211's. He's a SF poster and a good ebayer. Look's nice, but make sure that (among other things) the sleeves are right, because those buttons are fully-functional.
