"No," answered the rabbi. "It's forbidden."

Can we finally ********?"

"Of course!" replies the rabbi. "Sex is a mitzvah (good thing) within marriage, to have children!"

"Sure," says the rabbi. "Go for it! It's a mitzvah!"

"Sure! Another mitzvah!"

"On the kitchen table?"

"Yes, yes! A mitzvah!"

"Can we do it on rubber sheets with a bottle of hot oil, a couple of vibrators, a leather harness, a bucket of honey and a porno video?"

"You may indeed. It's all a mitzvah!"

"Can we do it standing up?"

"No." says the rabbi."

"Why not?" asks the man.

"It could lead to dancing!"

good luck brian

meantime cut out all soda and alcohol

maybe get your missus to join you in eating better and cook "less tasty" (aka *****) dinners

def count your calories. that includes **** you forget about like ketchup, etc. adds up the calories that you forget about. If you can sustain less than 1500 calories/day you'll lose a small amount of weight just with that. (not 20 lbs but baby steps, right?)

I'm not sure less than 1500 cals is enough for someone 5'11" ~200 unless he's really old or super sedentary(which he very well may be).

Hot sauce isn't too bad. Dressing, ketchup, mayo etc definitely pack on calories.

If you really don't have time to work out then look into high intensity interval training. It's not for the faint of heart, but it burns more calories than steady state cardio in less time.

Funny, if someone with like 5 posts made the op he'd probably get flamed to internet hell. I guess having 15k posts earns you some leeway lol.

I believe I made an insinuation in one of my posts about the 5k run in Irvine on January 10th. Your reply was supposed to be along the lines of, "That's a good idea BDC, are you going to sign up for that as well as that would give me the motivation to work out and get ready for the race. That way I have motivation and with you doing it as well, I can't give up as people on SF would make fun of me."

how do you train for a marathon while at the same time on crack??

joking.
yeah that sounds like a good idea, but i dont have the resources (time mostly and location, bad area to jog in my area) to do that sort of thing. but i will take up on something that is similar to yours and thomas' suggestions. like my own stairmaster log/goals and make them public here i guess.

A 5k is short so I just ran a half hour at home on my treadmill doing intervals each day. A week before, a friend and I went out to the site and ran the 5K so we knew what the course was like.

BTW, you live in Costa Mesa. You can run on the beach at Newport, or along the Santa Ana River bike trail. If you just run for a half hour, that's better than nothing. Or take up a weekly sport. If you have played softball/baseball I can tell you what leagues are around you. It think you can sign up and they will place you on a rec team (men's or coed, your call). I've only ever played upper divisions and have been asked to play on teams before, but I'm sure at Mile Square Park, Huntington Beach Sports Complex, Harvard Park, etc., there are league night teams you can just sign up for.

Sho - I don't know your neighborhood, or your access to a gym, or what have you - but take my word for this: there is no substitute for having a race on your schedule. Your efforts will take on a new sense of urgency. I've already planned out my mileage from now until January 17. It is a new and fun kind of crazy.

I used to ride my bike from Santa Ana to the ocean as a kid on that trail. It is paved and has a very slight grade (2% or less) from the ocean (between Huntington/Newport) all the way up to Angel Stadium. People frequently bike/jog the trail as it runs parallel to the Santa Ana River. I'm not sure about indoor tracks, but most all High Schools have outdoor tracks. I believe Mile Square Park has jogging facilities. There are gyms all over the place. Bally's, 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness...I don't know if any have actual tracks though. Even better though...they have pools.
