Hi everyone,

people will hate me for that thread, because there are already the small question threads etc.. but afaik a lot of questions are overread and I really need some help!

I am from sweden, 21 yrs old and on university atm and I really need help for dressing more interesting.
I am not a total noob at fashion, just kind of boring :/ I have couple of weeks off now and want to change my style a bit.

I wear APC Petit Standard in Black or New Cures in Indigo pretty much everyday. For footwear I either wear plain sneakers, being CP Achilles in White or original GATS (most), sometimes the CPxEvisu Black Mid Top or I wear work boots (Red Wing 9160 in black or Red Wing GT in brown), sometimes Clarks DBs. Topwear is the most depressing part, I either wear H&M v-necks or BD Shirts (most from Asos, because they fit good). I have a COS Cardigan, 2 V-Neck sweaters in black and grey. For outerwear I have a cheap leather, which however fits good. I also have a winter jacket by Penfield which I like and a light colored Jacket by APC which I love because of the cool material mix.

My problem is it seems so boring. When I look at people wearing head-to-toe H&M i barely notice a difference, I ask myself why I actually spend a lot on clothing when looking like everyone else.

I don't know how to do the step from dressing okay to actually being considered "well dressed".
I thought about getting "unusual looking" pieces like the geller dip dye, but then again they are often hard to come by or very expensive.

I really need some advice and sorry for the thread and my weak english skills.

=)

If you're bored with your style, try something different. Change your aesthetics I guess.

I'd say you are pretty good on jeans, shoes and outwear. Although, it doesn't hurt to get different branded jeans. Just change up to higher end button ups and tees.

The main reason you don't see a difference between H/M and what you wear is that there really isnt a huge difference in H/M and what you currently wear. If I were you I would check out as many different lookbooks or runway pics on style.com or something along those lines until you find a look you like. Once you find a basic look you like start there. Buy as many basics as you can. Then start buying other pieces. Once that is down maybe think about branching out to similar styles and learn to combine different pieces. Use lookbooks as a reference for styling.

Very simple advice: Go read the 50 most recent pages in the SW&D waywt-thread, then just lurk or feel free to post pics and questions related to your outfits :)
