I found these great chukka boots today at a thrift but can't figure out the maker. The only clues are the soles marked made in Northamptonshire England, and the tongue of one boot has either "SA" OR "VS" in a circle . Any ideas?

The leather on the inside of the tongues feels like very soft glove tanned leather and the boots feel like they may be calfskin .

The NSN (NATO stock number) means these are issued boots, made under a MoD contract. Sanders, perhaps.
