I promised the guy at KFAN I'd post this, so here it is. Please don't contact his superiors at Clear Channel and get him fired or have his chat shut down. I know the temptation may be great, especially for you lawyers who have that nice scary letterhead just waiting for a chance to use it. I contacted him, he dealt with it honorably; that can be the end of it.

See, you can't really make fun of the invasion, since it was (cleverly, I might say)thwarted before it even began. It was originally supposed to happen tomorrow

And on a side note, you wouldn't get the whole "rube" thing unless you actually listened to the station.

I have listened to KFAN on occasion, cruising through CT. and the like, though apparently not enough to be hip to the "rube" thing. I think Mike Lupica, who does a sports thing on Don Imus' show, is a KFAN guy. Or at least he was, last time I was tuning into Imus regularly, which is at least 4-5 years ago.

On a side note re. the "Invasion", I was just about to post the following when the meltdown occurred:

Its Captain V. (Did you notice how Ken just jumped right in with the name? I really think we have something there).

Captain V. obviates Viagra in fact, as you an tell from the Monologues, soon to be a major motion picture, "Captain V: The beginning" (Or the end, whichever). In the sequel Captain V battles the Evil V, Viagra his arch enemy.

Last time I drove through the NY/NJ/CT area I think I was listening to KFAN. They were tearing their hair out over Herm Edwards' poor clock management skills. In any case, they should visit this site, which I think may be the best site on the entire WWW (no offense to Styleforum): Cold Hard Football Facts There they will learn the sad truth about the Jets and the awesome reality of New England's gridiron domination.

And maybe J should preemptively ban your IP's just to prevent this from happening again.

And I don't listen to stateside radio because I don't live in the states, although I really can't say I'm missing out on much.
