    I wouldn't base my decision on advice from the internet provided by people who can't possibly understand your situation any better than you can. Anyway, based on the tone of your post it sounds like your mind is already made up.

    As I stated my mind is basically made up. I would never look to the Internet to make a decision of this magnitude. On the other hand it is interesting to hear from others that may have been in similar situations and how it worked out. Isn't that the the reason this section of the forum even exists?

    The devil you know vs the one you dn't. I'd stay in this new position for 1-2 years then leverage it to move to a better opportunity. It sounds like the pay is ok, but the position is much better then the other job.
