I have finally decided to take my Timberland loafers out of my regular rotation. They were my favorite all-time shoe. These John Varvatos is my top choice. They sell for $379. Tell me what you think? Thank You!

I'm not crazy about them either, exept for a kick around the house casual shoe maybe. Pricey for that.

For that price point, there are a lot of better options available. Choose wisely.

These shoes look boring and uninspired. I would not be able to distinguish them from similar-style shoes by Florsheim or other $100 shoe brands.

I find the stitching too bulky. The toe's upward curl is a bit douche-baggy. Varvatos also probably charges you a lot more for brand than another shoe-maker might at the same price range.

Honestly, if you are willing to spend around $400 , look around. That pricepoint means you can look at Alden, Crockett & Jones, Polo, Allen Edmonds and many, many others. Look into monkstraps while you are at it, just don't throw away your money on something that is grossly overpriced.

Try Martegani or Santoni.

I don't like them at all. They seem to me like any other generic shoe slightly redone by a clothing designer. I agree that there are many, many other great driving mocs available. Just check the Polo and Allen Edmonds websites for some good examples.

Those are pretty awful. Almost hard to believe those are John Varvatos.
