PLEASE critique the fit of the Marni lace ups - sizes EU 44 and 45 - which one is right for me?

    Hi everyone

I have these Marni lace up shoes in both sizes EU 44 and 45 - but cannot for the life of me determine which one to go for. Please help me make my decision.

The size 44 is a little tight on the instep and a little narrow in general. I have wide feet. Yet, the length is pretty much OK. The size 45 is very comfortable, but slips a bit on the heel, unless I tighten the laces up quite tight.

The leather is quite thin and supple, so concerned it might stretch and become unwearable - what do you think? What's your experiences with similar shoes a bit too big?

Also, some of the photos below show where the shoes crease when I bend my foot on each shoe. Is there too much material on the 45? Additionally, the creasing on the 44 goes a bit into the toe cap - isn't this a no no?

Please let me know, I REALLY need you help. Maybe you can see something I don't? I know it's up to me ultimately, but I don't know if I am missing a trick or not.

The photos of each are below - please ignore the styling, this is just about the fit of these shoes.

Please help me with any thoughts that you may have on these. Which one would you stick out with?

    Thank you very much

Pictures of your lower leg and feet are of no earthly use to determine which fit - and have no other interest to anyone I imagine. Which shoes are suitable is determined by what goes on INSIDE the shoe and not appearance. Only the wearer can decide which are comfortable to walk in and wear generally.

The human race is not blessed with X-ray vision.

How they might behave over time cannot be predicted as you would wish, only generalised.

Thank you for your replies, and I fully understand is a weird request. But all I am asking is if there is something noticeably wrong with either from an outside perspective? Is there nothing that anyone sees that is something potentially wrong with the fit?

For instance, are the laces too far apart on the size 44 to someones eye? Is the heavy crease on the size 45 a noticeable problem?

Anything that anyone can say on a superficial by just looking at the photos would honestly help me out.

I would really appreciate someone just humoring me at this point and imparting some sort of advice.

    Thank you

I agree. I have no idea what we are supposed to look at in this instance.

Shoe fit is not a matter of how it looks, but more of how it feels.

Speaking of looks, why is this in classic menswear? Unless this is in the wrong section, I would burn those regardless of the fit.

You have both sizes and have tried them. Keep the ones that fit better. What could you possibly expect someone to say/comment re the fit? You have them on. You are REALLY making this more of an issue than it should be.

I very much understand your points, and I know this seems ridiculous, but I read posts all the time with members saying things like 'the crease is too near the laces suggesting it's too long for you' or 'there's too much of a gap between the eyelets suggesting you need a wider fit'

I just want someone to say anything along those lines after viewing the way they fit me.

Also, I am concerned with the creasing in the toe cap area on the size 44, this is not present on the 45. However, the 45 has a very deep crease forming below the laces.

The 44 is a little tight on the instep, and the 45 feels quite roomy - which in these instances would you go for?

It is utterly "ridiculous": Understand the advice that you have been given and don't clutch at straws to support this silly request. You must decide if they fit your feet not what a feature looks like: None of
your suggestions are measurements of fit.
