I would appreciate suggestions on potential alterations to the fit of this shirt from MyTailor.com.

I was measured in person by Mr. Sam. This is the second shirt in the initial series. The first shirt was generally too big, and they will recut it when we have settled on final measurements.

This shirt has been washed and dried 3 times. A few key stats are as follows:

Thomas Mason Sliverline
Classic Stripe Pattern
Collar Height: 1.75"
Point Length: 3.25"

Thanks very much for any help and advice.

If you ask me, it fits very well. As the above poster has noted, that tiny bit of sweat is quite noticeable, but that is not down to fit but to choice of cloth and possibly the lighting conditions of your photographs. Apart from that little hiccup, well done.

Yes, I did notice the sweat mark. I always wear an undershirt when at work or out of the house. But did not put one on for the pics as I did not want that to distort the structure. I live in Miami Beach and its hot down here.....

Thanks. Yes, I'm going to evaluate the sleeves when I wear it to work for a full day. They may indeed need to be a bit longer. And I will move the buttons to tighten up the cuffs a bit.

Armhole could be higher, and the sleeves look an inch too short.

I always find myself unimpressed with mytailor shirts.

Your left arm (the one on the right-hand side of the picture) seems to be just the right length. Try to adjust the other accordingly. Again, everything looks good.

Question:

I get a similar collar fit with RTW shirts, where the back of the collar touches the bottom of my hair line. (short neck)

Is that how it should be worn, or is it prudent in this case to try a shorter collar height?

I thought about the arm hole dimensions. With my "full figure" I'm more comfortable with a bit of room here. I've tired on Borrelli, Kiton, Barba and some other Neapolitan brands and find that the cuts are a bit too snug for me.

FreeFinancial's question about collar height is a good one. I'm 6'1", 215#, and the collars on my RTW shirts are all 1.25" to 1.5". I went with something a bit higher at 1.75". So is this working for me or would something a bit shorter be better?

I think you've got the collar nailed. That's always a hard thinkg to judge without your face being in the photo, but what I'm seeing looks like a good choice for you.

Am I the only one who thinks the shirt looks a little big across the shoulders and that the sleeves could stand to be slimmed?

My first (and so far only) MyTailor.com shirt had waaaaay too much material in the sleeves. It looked like Seinfeld's puffy shirt. I don't know how to fix that on future orders since the only arm measurement they request during the ordering process is at the wrist. They got my cuff size just right, but the arms flapped in the wind like loose sails.

P.S. Which fabric is that, and how do like it?

Thanks Threadbearer. This is Thomas Mason Silverline, in one of the classic stripe patterns. The pattern did not come across very well in the pics, but I'm happy with it. The fabric itself seems a bit "light or thin" and not quite as soft a hand as I might have hoped.

I plan on going with Twill stripes and checks for the next few as I like the heavier weave better.
