I have this jacket on hold and need to know what to do by tomorrow so thank you for your help.

This is a 40R Zegna 15 MilMil . Couple issues. For one, is it me or is the button stance really out of wack? I get the idea of a high two, but this is really high. Concerned about the waist suppression due to the button stance and it's affecting the vents. Second, a little tightness around the bottom of the armholes.

My questions: Do the shoulders look ok and can I take out the sides and armholes a little to give me some breathing room; or, is this jacket DOA?

Thanks guys!

I love that you are a bigger, curvier man than most of the other sfers who you see on this forum that tend to represent the genre.

Shoulders and sleeves look ok but your backside is pushing the vents open far too much. One may think you are passing wind. Perhaps you can clarify for us as to what pants you were wearing when trying on the jacket. Wrong pants can push vents open. Based on this photo, you have 2 options: 1) Pass on this jacket 2) Re-name yourself JohnnyPotatoes

I am slimmer than the picture depicts me, but def need to drop a solid 10 lbs for this summer. The curves are nice, but can be a pain when my waist size goes down to a 32 and I'm a 40/41/42 because i like my jackets fitted and too much waist suppression can make the fit look awkward.

Sorry took me so long to reply; I just got finished laughing. Man, that was painful laughing too, where is that dude from, a kung fu movie?

THe pants are RL polo basic cotton chino style pants. They have tabs with two button on either side which may be contributing to the flaring. THey sit about two inches below my belly button.

You think the button stance is normal on the jacket as well? What about the length? I am deciding between this and a TINDARI zegna cloth, but it's about 1 inch longer (this jacket is 30 inches and the tindari is 31). THe Tindari is weird though, made in mexico but feels like canvas.

does anyone else think we may be too picky at times? Like I agree the button point is high, and obviously the vents flair too much, but it's still decent for OTR. a little tailoring makes this very wearable, and the price makes a difference too.

I'm not a tall guy, maybe 5'9" giving myself a half an inch. I used to love 3 buttons and now only buy 2 unless its a 3 that rolls to 2 and always liked a high 2 since I was used to 3's. I have found that staying in shape coupled with a lower 2 gives a better appearance. This jacket seems too high regarding the stance.

This jacket, a 15 MilMil 15, at the price is an awesome buy. The thing is, I allready learned the hard way not to buya jacket that doesn't fit. I am a true 41 and wear a 42 in Canali. This is a 40R and the armholes are a little tight. Can this be let out?

That jacket isn't even close to fitting you.

The bottom button isn't gaping open because it's intended to. The thing is too small.

Problem is if you size up the shoulders will be too big for you.

This is why I only buy Canali on sale; I go with a 42Reg or Short and apply some waist suppression and live with it. The 42 doesnt look oversized, it's just that 41" is my actual size.

Thanks for the candid response. I am going to go with this Tindari zegna cloth (still confused as to why it is made in mexico while i am almost positive it is canvass construction). It is a slimmer fit 42 but the length is 31". May take an inch off the bottom and call it a day.

I never thought I would say this, but... this OTR jacket is too tight for you. Pass.
