Being FOCT (The Forum's Official Conspiracy Theorist), I think Kobe tanked in the playoffs last year to get his way- Jackson and Shaq out. He and Buss are a much better match...

    Brad:

Diamondbacks are doing pretty well too these days.

It's all about the big diesel.
I personally loves that he gives himself nicknames. Â My favorite was "MDE", Most Dominant Ever.

    Yes. Go Sonics.

Everyone go ahead and underestimate us. We can get past SA at least...

    maybe.

Or it could just be another Seattle sports team collapse.

Anyone remember the Mariners 114 win season? We didn't clear the first round that year.

Or the Seahawks tanking hard every year in the playoffs, getting beat by the Rams 3 FRIGGIN TIMES LAST YEAR.?.?.?

Oh well, at least the Seattle Storm won the WNBA championship.

My fiancee is a mathematician, and was mildly amused. Me, I had to lay on the floor for half an hour while my stomach stopped cramping up from the laughter. I would really like to see Shaq host SNL.

Shaq has had his humorous moments. I'm a Lakers fan and I remember last year when he made an alley oop dunk with his left hand and stared at it as he ran back and shouted "It's alive." And, of course, there was his great comment of "One lucky shot deserves another." After Fisher's shot sank the Spurs in game 5. He referred to TD's lucky top of the key bank shot.

I think the Heat have a better chance against the Suns, but I'm not sure the Heat can beat the Pistons. I think the Suns got the west, buts that iffy with Johnson hurt, even with that injury, I'd take the Suns over the Spurs.

I want to say the Pistons, and I think they will take out Miami, but I just don't see them beating the Suns, even without Johnson.

In the end I think the Suns got it.

I would like to see Shaq commentate alongside the like of one of the funniest men in showbiz: Bill Walton. The two funniest centers, and excluding Barkley, players in NBA history (yes that includes "comedian" John Salley, lol).

Pretty much agree with that analysis.

It WOULD be nice to see a Suns/Heat final. Sorry, SA, but the Spurs (and the Pistons) put me to sleep.

Exactly. the Suns come the closest to the NBA's glory days, i.e. most of the years prior to about 1990. High scoring fast-paced games with less contact (i.e. less like football and more like basketball).

I'm going for the Suns as well (as a Canadian, I feel it imperative to support whichever team that hoser Steve Nash is playing on) - yesterday was disappointing - but some adjustments, and I think that the Suns can still have it. Probably they'll need some way of disrupting the Spurs transition defence. And it's really hard to play Duncan, especially when Ginobelli (sp?) and Parker can shoot so well from the perimeter, not to mention that neither, though relatively slight guys, seem to fear the lane. Maybe forcing more fouls? I don't know...

I think that Kareem and Magic are unstoppable in the west. L.A. may take it all again this year. Unless Larry Bird develops a hot hand in Boston.

Nah, now that Wilt is with Jerry, it's all over.
