It was a joke.

Good point.

However, to give a serious response (I know it was more tongue-in-cheek), I find that fine. I don't expect to show up on some message board with girls oggling me, saying, "Oh he looks so incredibly average! Wow I love his unique Irish-blooded looks and his stellar plain brown hair!

And I'm cool with that. They can keep oggling the new Superman or whomever. I like the idea of not being super attractive. More intelligent people seem to take less attractive people more seriously (pre-meeting impression, anyway), and I wouldn't want to go through my life with people talking to me and making me feel like I'm interesting because of my personality, when really it's just because people like to associate with good lookers.

Jill, just for one counter-examples sake, a co-worker of mine (pity me, she only dates millionaire football players) weighs a buck ten and is probably pushing the double D mark, and they're real. I asked her. I guess she could be lying, but it's pretty easy to tell. She's also beautiful. But never have I seen such suffering as what I meant above... *everyone* on the face of the planet calls themself her friend and she may never know the reason why.

It's like that scene from Liar, Liar, when Jim Carrey gets on the elevator with the really attractive woman and asks her if she's new to the building. She says yes and that everyone's been really nice. He responds, "that's because you have really ********."

That's the kind of 'at work' question that can get you involved in legal difficulties, unless you're employed in the adult entertainment industry.

I suppose if she was humorless she could have reported me. But thankfully, she's as sweet a person as she is beautiful. We're good friends and I didn't even consider running that risk.
