There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Evidently Peter Jackson has begun filming Silmarillion. The first scenes were shot in Pitti Uomo.

Those hats are silly. They scream "Here, take my photo". My older sister used to wear one of those in her neo-hippie days. Oh well....such is Pitti

One of their innovations is the thinner "matriz" sole, as seen on the right shoe, below.:

Tomorrow, since it's really late here, and the 5 course meal I just ate is making me sleepy, outfits from Kiton.

^ The innovation has the appearance, to a layman, of a standard blake/rapid construction from any Italian maker. I'm guessing that since it's an "innovation" it is still Goodyear welted, but the aesthetic doesn't appeal to me.

Great thread. Eagerly looking forward to more.

I don't know but I do know my mum used to wear them do to the gardening in when I was a kid. They'll be on eof the more regrettable trends from this years Pitti I predict.

I hope you guys ask Barbera tough questions like, "Now that you have sold to Ciro Paone, will Carlo Barbera fabrics be available for bespoke or only for Kiton RTW?"

Can you check if Liverano has any plans to visit the US (by that I mean NYC)? Are his prices really 4k euro per suit?

Any other questions for signor Liverano? Maybe of more general interest?

How should someone go about deciding which tailor to use?
What's your favorite cloth for a 3 season business suit?

Had a great interview with Liverano. Got a lot of pics too, will post some soon. A very elegant and interesting man.

I will write more, but the answer is yes, he is very interested in coming to the US, and trying to find the right way to enter. If you might be interested, I would definitely contact him, tell him where you are, and just say that you have interest, and that you heard on SF that he was considering trips to the US. I'll add too - I didn't ask about prices, but they are surely high. And they deserve high prices, as the work they do is really outstanding. Very very beautiful clothing.

A few pictures - the man himself, looking spectacular in an orange odd waistcoat. Taka, in an absolutely amazing overcoat.

At the risk of sounding very picky, Signor Liverano's waistcoat looks to be too short.
