A local seller is offering this pink chore coat from Le Mont St. Michel at a very good price. This kind of heritage chore coat was already on my wishlist, but of course I was thinking more of the classic blue one.

I've never owned anything in such a color as pink, but I like the idea of getting more into seasonal clothes.

However, I've been reading a lot of @dieworkwear and I've been trying to see clothes in their historical context and analyzing what they communicate.

A blue chore coat with jeans communicates a very clear message, but what happens when it becomes pink? Is it still a chore coat in that way? Should I look into the language of pink clothes in menswear more generally?

I feel I need to understand this before deciding whether it's worth buying this.

I suggest not buying things just because they're a "good price". Part of what makes something a good value is how well it fits in your wardrobe. I would not get one in pink until I had enough of a jacket collection to cover most common outfit combinations. This is more like jacket number 3 or later.

At the end of the day, if you really love it and think you can make it work well, then that's great.

Yeah those are good points. I already have a couple of trucker jackets, a barbour, and a gree denim and a black wool chore coat, so this would be more like jacket number 6.

I was still interested in the heritage blue one, but at this point in my wardrobe building journey I think I can give other options a chance. Of course, I don't want garments just occupying space in my closet, so I was interested in knowing really how useful I can make it if I really want to.

Also how much you think I would stand out in something like that.

I have an unlined lightweight Boglioli linen one in a similar salmon pink shade. But I often wear lighter shades like that in the summer, I often just use it as a tunic on its own in very hot weather rather than layered. I wear it very often! Anyway, sepends on your wardrobe and level of comfort...
Do you know what you'll wear with it? In what circumstances? Those are good questions to answer in advance.

Nice! Those are good points to think about. I'm thinking I can wear it with light wash jeans and my chinos for a day out on moderate weather. Although a trusty trucker jacket can fulfill the same purpose, so this is out of "basics" territory when clothes fulfill a more utilitarian purpose.

Something I'm not sure of is whether it makes sense to have a summery colored jacket on a fabric other than linen or similar. I'm not sure how breathable the jacket's moleskin is.
