I am working on a series of the classic pin dot silk tie and am thinking about a color range similar to our grenadines. http://www.samhober.com/store/grenad...ties-c321.html Any suggestions for new colors? Thank you. Here it is in midnight blue:

Sam, I like lustrous silks in classic colors and woven with more surface interest than twill, and woven pin dots to match my shirt. Two of my favorites are a very conservative red with white pin dots, and a subtly less conservative navy with lavender pin dots (both from Carlo Franco, for what that's worth).

Wine with gold pin dots is something you don't see often.

But I'll buy almost any pin-dot. It's my favorite tie.

I really like pindots with less contrast than the typical British silks, i.e., navy w/ lavender, wine w/ dark red, navy w/ slate, etc.

I don't believe it was a silk tie, but I really liked the gray pin dot tie SoCal wore in the Gray contest.

I love that blue...I have one pretty much exactly like it. How about a very deep pink with white dots?

Black with white is a classic and sounds good. I am picturing the silver as I type and it sounds interesting. Texture comment noted, thank you. Do you have an example of the pink in mind? reubencahn \tI really like pindots with less contrast than the typical British silks, i.e., navy w/ lavender, wine w/ dark red, navy w/ slate, etc. Interesting also good for pocket squares perhaps

On a somewhat related note, I wish you had a tie like this in navy with white dots...

Not really, I just love deep pinks and don't think we see enough of them in men's accessories. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I find something I think might have large(ish)-scale appeal.

Red wine background with white dots. Warmer color (pale yellow, maybe) could be OK also.

Midnight/white is very effective. (edit-- I now see you have both of those already).

Yellow with blue-- either midnight or royal dots.

With those three I wouldn't really need anything else. Which wouldn't stop me from looking anyway.

I also agree that the larger dots referenced above would be just as useful in these or other effective colorways. So think about doing a "small" and "large" version of your most classic choices.
