A proper pie is pumpkin and should be served with vanilla ice cream. If the pie is not fresh it should be warmed in a microwave before serving. :drool:

Unless you're using real pumpkin, which you probably aren't, pumpkin pie is dogshit. A sweet potato pie is much better.

Disagree...real pumpkins make ****** pies. The canned goop comes from a squash that is much more similar to a butternut...and it tastes way better than pumpkin (even if you buy the "pumpkin pie" pumpkins at the grocery store).

edit: This may only be true of the Libby's brand who developed said pumpkin. It seems like the USDA is pretty lenient and some other brands literally just throw butternut squash and other **** into the can and label it "Pumpkin".

Butternut squash makes a good pie, but legitimate pumpkin does make a good pie. It's a fairly open canvas so you throw in some spices and such.
