looking for durable leather gloves that are good for rain, wind (thinking spring autumn, not winter) that have seams stitched to the inside (don't like them out) and are fitted rather than loose, and are made for bigger hands. not sure of my size, but standardised 'one size fits all' wool gloves are usually too small. the gloves i use through winter are southcombe stour and are thick. need something i can easily put away and keep in pockets as shearling lined ones are tricky to get the right use out of and can end up being carried a little too often at cooler times that aren't really cold. any ideas on makers with lots of options for sizes or cheap bespoke? also, suggested linings? i've tried silk, worried a little warm. tried cashmere, find them likely to wear through? want something for a lifetime, but not scary expensive. help appreciated.

These four were all thrifted for $5 a pair. Orange pair are from Jay Kos with cashmere exterior and silk lining. Three leather pairs are all anonymous and all hand sewn.

Next two are from NMWA: Dents with Harris Tweed and cashmere lining and Merola carpincho with cashmere lining.

My deerskin leather gloves have "frays" (not sure how else to describe it, I don't think it's due to wear since the gloves are new) on the seam edges, and occasionally, these pieces will fall off. Just wondering if this is a normal occurence?

Seems like it's just the nap of the flesh side. A pass with a lighter will knock down the fuzzy bits.

I am ordering some gloves from Hungant. I've ordered some unlined peccary for a really close fit. I keep reading that the traditional closure for "day gloves" is a simple button, or no closure at all, but what do you guys think? The wrist fastener with the press buttons looks bulkier but much more secure - I would get it in a heart beat on a lined pair of winter gloves. But what do you think is better on a pair of unlined, second-skin style peccary gloves?

Around here we don't use a lot of gloves but I got these @Kent Wang for my trip to Vancouver last december and they were great. My hands were not cold and I didn't needed to take them of to use my phone. They are deerskin and 100% cashmere lining.

I remember when the orange Jay Kos gloves were first being sold on ebay. The retail was $250 and I paid $54 shipped. That was back in Oct 2009. I posted them here, but the pics are no longer available. You really got a good deal at $5

All four thrifted pairs fit. The best pair in the lot, RLPL peccary, I ended up flipping. I loved them but they were too big. Used the profits from that sale to pay for the Merola carpincho.

I am in no way affiliated with the seller and have only one pair. I am quite happy with the gloves, considering the relatively low cost. But to be honest, despite fitting issues with most clothing and shoes, I seem to have perfectly proportioned hands and didn‘t go custom on my order.

I'd like to buy my father a pair of gloves for his birthday coming up. I'd like what I've seen from Hungant, so I'd like to order there.

He now has a pair of Hestra gloves that look disastrous. He used them in during snow etc and did not take good care of them. So I'm looking for a pair of gloves with a high durability, so no peccary I guess. What do you guys recommend?
