I'm about to buy one madova and also want one portolano, except the portolano site has nothing listed. Is this usual for them? Do they list a little later on or are they simply no longer selling through their site?

just got some peccari leather gloves.

    they feel and look large.
size is correct, but I have bitch hands so the fingers are too long and I wish they fit tighter.

should i size 1/2 down or is there a way to shrink them permanently?

I hear putting them in boiling water for 30 secs then blow drying works?
can i use some saddle soap, get them wet and blow dry?

Can anyone recommend gloves that look like these peccary ones but are not made out of pigs?

Too bad Scotch & Soda don't have this anymore. Would've snatched one, even though I feel that gloves are one accessory I don't like spending much money on.

I like those Bruno's. Too bad their site doesn't accept international orders.
I'll probably order a chesterjefferies. I think paris is the classic ones?
    Great thread!

I was thinking of ordering a pair of paris as well. What's the deal with the points on the back? Are they necessary or classic or what?

Personally I don't like the points/dots on the back.
I think on page 5 there are some pictures of the cape skin Paris. There are no dots on the back there.

Yeah, this thread is super timely for me. I was out looking for gloves last weekend and could not find a pair to save my life. All the stores have made the switch to short sleeve polos and swimsuits. Have they not looked outside? There are three feet of snow on the ground! Even most of the online stores seem to not be offering gloves anymore. I think I will order from CJ, those look pretty sharp.

So I received shipments from both Dents and Madova today. Both online transactions went very smoothly, and shipping to the US was less than a week.

DENTS - unlined deerskin in bark, cashmere lined in dark brown

MADOVA - unlined kidskin in grey, cashmere lined kidskin in mid brown and dark reddish brown

The skins are gorgeous, and to my eye or touch the quality between the two manufacturers isn't very distinguishable. Hand-stitching is evident everywhere. I quite like the wrist closure on the lined Dents, but overall the Dents fingers are rather elongated in comparison to the Madova, which fit me perfectly.

Fit is king, so while the Dents are lovely, they go back tomorrow.
