I hear you- but I think it would have to have that "sheen" to give me pause, so the nature of the wool would matter.

FWIW, cloth is a 13oz. worsted with a dry finish (its Dugdales).

Hard to say without seeing it IRL... I would personally not do it. I'd much prefer a grey herringbone or even a grey donegal.

I like very faint herringbones, I find a strong herringbone to be too much pattern for the very pattern coats I prefer to wear.
