1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Not into any lizard skins, but many of those pairs are superb. Works of art...thanks for posting.

The iguana are wonderful, and I'd like to experiment with sock color in those interestingly perforated ones. Of all the off-center shoes I've seen (which really isn't that many) this is the only pair I would even consider wearing.

[IMG] [IMG] It takes Hidetaka about six months to complete a pair. [IMG] Thanks for reading. Gaz
Thanks Gaz for these pictures. I was to bashful to take pictures when I talked to Hidetaka. These black ones where the ones he presented to ma as his RTW stock, unfortunately none large enough for my feet. Handmade by him, same time allotted but on his RTW last. Slightly more casual due to metal eyelets etc, like the Oxford above. The first picture shows the monkstrap/loafer. The next picture the loafer and Oxford like in the last picture quoted above. His handmade RTW was about 1800€ if i remember correctly. He also like Kuro and other SF'rs mentioned does machine made line for the Japanese market.

Are they 7000 Euros for a basic pair, or for some kind of exotic skin?

7000 for the Metta. Starts around 3000 for MTM.

I damn near spilled my tea @ the sight of those cherry caps [IMG]
His exotics actually look more wearable than some of Lattanzi's wackjobs.

that general area was like home to me. i used to pass by his shop as well as tie your tie so damn often it was ridiculous.

his shoes were always amazing too. off the top of my head there are a couple of other cobblers to check out in the general area.

I envy you. Firenze is an awesome city. By far better than any other place I visited over my three week stay in Italy.

Tie your tie is an awesome place too. Its cool that Simone was featured on the Satorialist.

i know this seems like bragging, but there is just so much love i have for florence i can't help it

simone ( along with the store manager of the WP store ) hung out time to time at a pub just downstairs from my apartment.

sartorially, seeing the two together was awesome. one head to toe in what was probably bespoke, and the other in a tshirt, tatted sleeves, and most likely work boots.

having visited plenty of italian cities, none will ever compare to me to florence.
