Which do you enjoy more, the work of Phil Collins as a solo artist, or the work of Phil Collins when he formed the head of Genesis?

Trent Reznor learned everything he knows from Phil Collins.

This is like asking if we have a preference for getting punched in our left or right nut. Both options sound awful, and I don't like either one.

If you want to be really really scared listen to the early ministry work. When they toured opening up for Boy George

Since when did Genesis become a super group? Gaberial and a bunch of no names is a super group?

"invisible touch" was a particularly good pop rock album, snark notwithstanding.

You mean the early Wax Trax! recordings (basically the songs that wound up on Twelve Inch Singles)?

Believe it or not, I love that stuff.

Have about 4 Genesis songs and 6 Phil Collins songs on my iPod. Like them OK. Not usually the first things I put on, but I listen to them from time to time.

I must say that putting the top down on the convertible and cranking up "I Don't Care Anymore" or "In the Air Tonight" gets your inner Sonny Crockett going though.

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums.
