Good Day everyone,
I feel compelled to share with all of you, my experience with Phil Kalas at Ashland Leather.
In a nutshell, my choice was the Fat Herbie in natural color. When it arrived, I didn't feel that the color was near the picture ( think lighter). I contacted Ashland Leather customer service to get an exchange. Phil responded to my inquiry, answered bunch of my questions regarding the quality of the leather, the tanning of the leather, durability...you think of it and I asked it.
Phil patiently answered each of my questions quickly and politely, with a genuine type of personalized email, not form letters that you normally get from manufacturers. Phil offered to send me the lighter version of the wallet on good faith, so I can see both of them side-by-side and make my decision, even paying for shipping the new product, and return shipping on the returned item. This gesture alone speaks volumes about the type of business that's run, and of Phil himself.
Bottom line: Phil and Ashland Leather will be on my radar for a long time to come and I look forward to doing more business with him in the future.
I can only hope and wish for other businesses to pick up on this level of customer service once again, and may Phil be the trend setter. In my eyes, he'll be the first and last person I go to for leather goods.
