Of course, the whole "be fruitful and multiply" command. Do you wear a yarmulke?

ahh this truely is the personal questions thread indeed ;)

to answer your question, my head is always covered. at work i wear a baseball cap (try to cut down on the anti-semitic comments if things get heated in the hood), but out of work yes, i wear a yarmulke.

btw, orthodox jews are allowed to use birth control, any many do.

Stitches, I hope you weren't offended by my curiosity. I don't think I've ever known anyone who was Orthodox. In fact, I can remember seeing exactly one man wearing a yarmulke in Texas, and I went to college in a suburb that was heavily jewish.

No but you do not sound the Orthodox guys I have to deal with at work...

In Europe, they tend to cut themselves from the rest of the community...

The ones I know are qute straight laced , very serious guys..

Not a lot of fun to be frank.

no worries my friend. i was not offended in the slightest. i have no problem be asked and answering questions about my faith. i was just messin with lasbar a little.

many do indeed cut themselves off socially from the rest of the world and many are in fact very serious, not a lot of fun at all. others just seem that way in public but are quite chilled out amongst friends. but on the whole i know exactly what you mean, im not like most orthodox jews you see walking around in the streets. i might look just like them and share the same practices, laws and beliefs but im not quite the same.

We have a lot of customers from Anvers in Belgium (diamond trade)...

    They're just so difficult...

You are quite chilled out, more like my Jewish mates from my party years.

They do not want to deal with women managers , are very quick to accuse us of antisemitism when they do not get what they want and so on...

Their wives are all wearing wigs and they tend to be very distant ,aggressive...

God-bless your dad! He's of the substance that made this a great country that is now suffering because of people who happen to be exactly not like your father. I'm happy to know, truly, that you don't take him or his qualities for granted.
