I can't send or recieve messages via the forum - it says my folders are full and I need to delete messages. I've gone from 200+ to 134 and still get the same error. Anyone else having the same problem, and if so, have you found a way to fix it? Do I need to delete them all?

I think the new maximum that we are allowed is 100 total.

Actually, I think it's 40, which I am slightly over. It will let me send them, but not receive.

Another thing on my "to do" list.

Anyone who wants Menswears please e-mail me instead, OK?

Maybe j could expand the limit to messages we can have in our inboxes and outboxes. Mine seems to be working fine; granted, I don't have near the number you have.

Sorry about this, Steve mentioned it to me and I've been working on it. I set the max PM size (don't know if that's total size on disk or max per PM) to 500k from 40kbytes, and the max amount of PMs to 1000 from 100, and it was 40 before Steve said something about it. Let me know if it is working now.

On a somewhat related note, I have two nearly identical user accounts and can only access this one, so if you have sent PMs to the other one, I can't even read them. It's ridiculous but there's no good way around it unfortunately.

I suppose the best solution is for people writing you messages to make a mental note to send the same thing twice (one to each account, of course).

I don't know if it's possible to send things to both accounts. I really need to figure out how to just delete one and hope the pithy comments attributed in the system to that account don't disappear forever.

Quick and possibly dumb question, but I'm new to this forum.

When you send someone a PM here, are they notified by e-mail, or do you have to hope they notice next time they log in?
I've been on other forums that work it both ways.
Thanks.

It depends on your settings.

Btw, Mods, will SF be getting a personal massage system with the updated site?

That would be because the forum settings being discussed are from 2004.

Oradeck: as an FYI, there are few quicker ways to become hated on a forum than constantly bumping years old worthless threads. Don't do it.
