Hello,

One of the unique features of Persol frames is their flexible “Meflecto” system: http://www.persol.com/usa/technology/technical-characteristics/meflecto

However, some of their models, such as the PO-2880-V (http://www.persol.com/usa/collections/optical/PO2880V/24) has a new “Flex sides” system. If one clicks on “Product Description” in the above link, it explains:

I imagine one reason Luxottica would do this is to minimize costs since it would be easier to manufacture. But does any one know how many models have this new system? I recently purchased a PO-2972-V model and it also features this new flex system. Although the Meflecto cylinders are present, they don’t seem to bend. But since the Persol website doesn’t state this model has the new system, I am kind of paranoid it may be fake despite the fact all the other details look good.

Thanks.
