I'm not sure exactly what "it's" called, but when a sport coat or suit jacket collar tightly hugs the shirt collar underneath, this is a critical outcome in my opinion. After looking at many suit jackets or sport coat images online, while also trying on may brands, there is nothing more satisfying to having sufficient fabric of the collar to hug upwards, or press into, the shirt collar. See pic below to visualize what I'm referring to:
I seem to notice this outcome more so with higher end brands. In fact, many department store brands have collar gap and insufficient girth on the collar to properly hug, or press up against, the shirt collar.
There are many experts on this forum and I'd like to tap into this rich resource. My questions for this thread are:
1. What is this collar bloom called that hugs so nicely?
2. Are there certain brands you find accomplish this most routinely?
3. Any pics to include in your response would be great.
