I have paid in advance before and signed the check in private while everyone was finishing up. I just hate the financial transaction at the table

Don't have any accounts bc I don't frequent a place often enough but that certainly makes sense.

My father is an all cash kind of guy and he is very smooth about it. I have much to learn

I wouldn't trust my card with any waiter, what with all the credit card fraud going around.

I'm really not concerned about it. I think of it as a problem for Amex and not me

So you don't pay by card at all then? It only takes a second to copy the card, you know...

Having no Amex for a week or so sucks.
Having to sign all kinds of affidavits about what you did and did not purchase sucks..
Having to report this stuff to the police because otherwise the CC company won't cover the fraud sucks...

I have been through it before. Amex will overnight the card and all sorts of other helpful things if necessary. Obviously not something I want to deal with but it really didn't take more than 30min to handle. I don't worry about these things

Truth hurts, don't it. You want to dish it out but can't take it? Learn to be a man and not a worm.
You don't work for a living, you spend daddys money without earning a dollar for yourself and it's no secret here.
'Here is a 40% tip dear, hey, make it 50% cuz it ain't my money anyway. Look what a biig man I am. Are you impressed?'
You know you better bring some of those bitches home for dad, after all, he's payin for it.
The only 'work' you do is suck Mod Sausage on here all day hoping one day they'll give you your own tiara and magic wand.
Go out there and get a job.

Tell you what...you stop spreading lies about me and I'll stop telling the truth about you.

It depends on the restaurant and also the waiter...

This is how George Hamilton rolls. His credit card is on file at several restaurants. I think he leaves a tip considerably higher than 20%.

Symptoms I have seen from bad waitresses:
    1) They don't smile at me or my party
    2) They don't look me in the eyes when talking to me
    3) They smile and chin-wag with my young nephew at a family gathering and ignore me who is the one paying for the meal.
    4) They are not attentive during my stay.
    5) They serve food with issues; either improperly prepared food or food with issues (too many to list)
    6) At the end of the meal upon paying in cash they arrogantly ask me, 'Do you want your change?'

For the bad ones, they will receive from nothing and I will speak with their manager and phone the owner of the restuarant later about them.
I won't reward bad behaviour, ever.
The good waitresses, providing attentive and pleasant service will receive 30% and I will contact their boss giving high praise about them.

On another matter, it is to my understanding that one doesn't tip in a Chinese restuarant because the staff are all paid salaries or decent hourly wages.
This was told to me by a Chinese friend many years ago. Would someone confirm if this is true for a typical North American Chinese restuarant?
