    Yes? No?

No sandals, ever, but wanted a spruce up. Dare not tell my son! [IMG]

As I was sitting there getting done over by a gorgeous Viet chick, and loving it (!!!), I wondered if Vox or Neo would have this done.

    I vote yes. Hell, yes.

    You?

I had one in Ethiopia a few years back at a spa right before my massage. Awesome. Just awesome. Of course, if you get manicures, then getting a pedicure is not that deep. I just don't do it enough cause I don't wear sandals much, but do get regular manicures.

I usually get them during the summer as I do go to the beach and wear sandals from time to time. I see nothing wrong with it at all. People who say its "Faggy" have not been anywhere in SE Asia. Totally common for dudes to get Manicure/Pedicures.

Pedicures are risky business. Too easy to pick up infections. Many places that do them don't properly clean tools and foot basins between clients because it's so difficult to do it right.

I used to get two pedicures a year -- one at the start of ski season, and one at the start of hiking season. I thought I was doing my feet a favor, but then I got a bad infection under a toenail so I quit.

I saw a podiatrist last year for an unrelated problem and happened to mention my pedicure infection to him while making conversation. He snorted derisively at the whole idea of pedicures. Aside from the dangers of placing your feet in the same disgusting basin as a thousand other people, he was also disturbed that pedicures involve removing and/or pushing back the cuticle. "Nature gave you cuticles for a reason," he told me. "They help hold your toenail in while keeping dirt and germs out."

Did both Mani/Pedi while visiting Bangkok. Was tired walking around the malls so I decided to try it out. Did a better job than I could do myself. Was amazed how much my nails were shining, after buffing them.

It's part of grooming, like brushing your teeth, shaving. I've been getting manicures and pedicures since I was five years old. She used to come to the house and gives us a 'family' special. I go to the Beauty Bar here in L.A. and have it done once every three weeks. They don't compare to the manicurists in southeast Asia. They are the best in the world.

what exactly is a pedicure and what would they do that is deemed necessary?

i receive compliments from women on my nice feet, and have never had a pedicure. i just keep them clean, keep my nails trimmed, and wear well-fitting shoes to avoid blisters.

I don't care how shiny my nails are but I like the pedicure because they scrape away the dead skin around the nails. Feels like your toes can finally breath properly afterward. It's great but too expensive unless you're in Asia.

I've never had one done professionally, but I do groom my own. Anyone who wears sandals should have properly groomed feet, IMO.
